andesha-e-mal-o-jah-e-duniya ghalat ast
andesha-e-māl-o-jāh-e-duniyā ġhalat ast
iiñ vahm-o-kHayāl-o-fikr-e-be-jā ġhalat ast
dar kHāna-e-tan vatan na bāshad hargiz
az bahr-e-do roz iiñ tamannā ġhalat ast
To pine for wealth and high position—is bad ;
This whim and fancy and vain thoughts—are bad.
( The Soul ) is not to remain for ever in the body :
To yearn for this short life—is bad.

dar kHana-e-tan watan na bashad hargiz
az bahr-e-do roz in tamanna ghalat ast
