tā dar havas-e-lā’l-e-lab-o-jām-e-mai
tā dar pa.e āvāz-e-daf-o-chañg-o-nai
īn-hā hama hashvast ḳhudā mī dānad
tā tark-e-ta’alluq na kunī hech nai
How long wilt thou seek ruby red lips and the wine cup, how long wilt thou be after the music of the cymbal, the harp and the flute; Heaven knows until thou givest up all (earthy) connections, thou art of no consequence.
