iiñ bā’is-e-dil-kHastagī-am chīst ba-go
tā chand ba-mehnat ba-kunam ziist ba-go
har chand budam az karam-e-kHvesh ba-baḳhsh
ġhair az tū ba-man rahm kunad kiist ba-go
What is the cause of my distress —tell me ?
How long shall I have to suffer this—tell me ?
However sinful I may be Thou canst forgive me !
Who else is there to take pity on me—tell me ?
