har kas za KHuda daulat-o-din mi-talabad
har kas za ḳhudā daulat-o-dīñ mī-talabad
yā sīm-barī māh-e-jabīñ mī-talabad
be-chāra dilam na aañ na iiñ mī-talabad
kHvāhān-e-visāl ast-o-hamīñ mī-talabad
Everyone asks for ‘wealth and faith’ from God
And prays for the gift of the silver-skinned Beloved,
But my poor heart desires neither of the two.
It cherishes union with Him and wants only that.
