sar daftar-e-’ālī-e-ma’ānī 'ishqast
sar bait-e-qasīda-e-javānī 'ishqast
ai aañ ki ḳhabar na-dārī az 'ālam-e-'ishq
iiñ nukta badāñ-ki zindagānī 'ishqast
In the volume of this world, the innermost (line of) significance is love, the head line of the poem of Youth is Love; O! thou who hast no knowledge of love, know (for ever) what life's point (of importance) is that life is love.
