chandan ki za KHud nist taram hast taram
chandāñ ki za ḳhud niist taram hast taram
har-chand buland-pāya taram past taram
ziiñ Turfa-tar aañ ki za sharāb-e-hastī
har lahza ki hushyār taram mast taram
However much I withdraw myself into non-existence. I find myself (active) in existence, to whatever heights I may think I have risen, I find myself more lowly than before and thus, it is curious to note that with the wine of existence as much as I am more in my senses, I find myself more and more inebriated every moment with the wine of existence.
