ba-nigar ki ’azizan-e-hama dar KHak shudand
ba-nigar ki ’azīzān-e-hama dar ḳhaak shudand
dar said gah-e-fanā ba-fitrāk shudand
ākHir hama rā ḳhaak nashīñ bāyad shud
gīram ki ba-rif’at hama aflāk shudand
Look ! All of my dear ones have gone under the earth ;
They have been bound down in the valley of death.
Everyone is obliged to turn to dust at last,
In spite of the great heights of eminence he may have achieved.
