Sajjad Ahsan was an Indian writer and Sufi poet. He was known for his association with the Sufi tradition and his devotion to Sufi saints. He was a disciple of Shah Ahsan-ul-Huda Qadri of Pind Sharif, Sheikhpura.
He was born as Muhammad Sajjad Quraishi on 27 January 1937 at Jarnadi Bazar, Bermo, Bokaro district (Jharkhand). He was the son of Noor Muhammad Quraishi and Zahra Khatoon. He received his early education at Ram Bilas High School, Bermo, and later completed his Intermediate in Science from St Columbus College, Hazaribagh.
He pursued higher education at Calcutta University, where he obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering. Professionally, he served in the field of electrical and technical education. He worked as Superintendent of Electricity, later as a Foreman Instructor at BIT Sindri, Dhanbad, and subsequently joined the same institution as a Professor. He retired from BIT Sindri after completing his academic service.
Alongside his professional career, Sajjad Ahsan was engaged in writing, particularly Sufi poetry, through which he expressed his spiritual interests and literary sensibilities.
