aisī kyā baat sar-e-shām nibhānī hogī

ek shama sarī raat jalī terī yaad meñ

wo zindagī jo tere pyar meñ basar na huī

ḳhalish ye pūchhtā phirtā hai ābshāroñ se

merī yaqīñ na ho to sitāroñ se pūchhnā
